Canvas: How to Submit an Assignment

How to Submit Assignments in Canvas

Canvas is the official platform for submitting assignments. You can access Canvas either through a web browser or the Canvas mobile app.

 
 

Option 1: Submitting an Assignment Using a Web Browser

 

Step 1: Open Canvas

  1. Go to https://canvas.fau.edu
  2. Log in using your FAU username and password
 

Step 2: Navigate to Your Course

  1. From the Dashboard, click on your course
  2. Select Assignments from the left‑hand course menu
 

Step 3: Open the Assignment

  1. Click on the assignment title
  2. Review the assignment instructions and deadline carefully
  3. Click “Start Assignment”
 

Step 4: Submit Your Assignment

  1. Click Submit Assignment
  2. If needed, upload your file by: Choosing File Upload, then selecting your file or dragging and dropping your file into the upload area
  3. Click Submit Assignment

 


Option 2: Submitting an Assignment Using the Canvas App

Step 1: Log In

  1. Log in with your FAU credentials (if needed)

Step 2: Open Your Course and Assignment

  1. Tap your course from the Dashboard
  2. Tap Assignments
  3. Select the assignment you need to submit
  4. Click “Start Assignment”

Step 3: Submit Your Assignment

  1. Tap Submit Assignment
  2. Choose your file source (Files, Camera, Cloud Storage, etc.)
  3. Select your file and tap Submit
