M4 Lottery Filter Instructions

The M4 Lottery is a complex process that includes over 2,000 rotation options in total. Filters can be a useful tool to help guide your rankings.

KEY POINTS:

• Allow 5-10 seconds for a filter to load prior to selecting a second filter.

• You may layer filters, but remember filters are “sticky” and must be reset if you are changing parameters.

• You may filter by the following (screenshots to follow):

  1. Campus (wait 5-10 seconds) = available locations

  2. Course Template (wait 5-10 seconds) = available Course #s

  3. Faculty (wait 5-10 seconds) = Primary Physician or contact

  4. Block (wait 5-10 seconds) = 4 week blocks during Lottery 3 or 2 week blocks during Lottery 4

  5. Free Text = type in key words. Quotation marks can be useful.

      

Example Filters:

1) CAMPUS FILTER

• Allow 5-10 seconds for a filter to load prior to selecting a second filter.

2) COURSE/ROTATION FILTER

• Allow 5-10 seconds for a filter to load prior to selecting a second filter.

3) FACULTY/PHYSICIAN FILTER

• Allow 5-10 seconds for a filter to load prior to selecting a second filter.

4) BLOCK FILTER

• Allow 5-10 seconds for a filter to load prior to selecting a second filter.
