If you have any sort of Hazardous Waste which needs special attention, such as dead batteries from a battery backup system, please contact FAU Environmental Health & Safety at EHS@fau.edu. Lithium and rechargeable batteries cannot be disposed of as regular trash. 

If you have laboratory hazardous waste, please use your login for BioRaft SciShield to arrange pickup.  All Primary Investigators have login access to BioRaft SciShield.  https://fau.scishield.com/

1. Go to https://fau.scishield.com/

2. Sign in with FAU credentials

3. Click My Account > Click College of Medicine - IT dept.

4. Waste Tab

5. Submit New Chemical Waste pick up request

6. Fill out page example, Physical state: Solid, Material Type: Batteries

7. Click Submit when finished
