For graduating students and any students leaving FAU, your FAU email account will terminate approximately 10 days following graduation. This includes your email, FAU issued OneDrive contents, and any other services that utilize FAU credentials for access.
What do I need to do?
- Download/forward any important emails to your person email account.
Note: It is a violation of federal law to download/forward any emails which may include protected information (HIPAA).
- Change any email subscriptions to your personal email address.
- Update your resume and any other documents which may contain your email address.
- Send an email out to your contacts with your personal email address.
- Download any documents from OneDrive to your personal computer or Cloud storage service.
- Be certain that any future applications you are completing that you use your personal email address.
- Review any banking, credit card or subscription services (Netflix, Hulu, etc.) to ensure they are updated to your personal email address.
- Review all your incoming emails to see what services/contacts that you will need to update with your personal email address.
- Update any 2 factor authentications which currently use your FAU email address.
REMINDER:
Be advised that once your FAU email account has been closed, you will no longer have access to view or send/receive any emails. New incoming emails will be bounced back with a message that your email address does not exist.
